Giovanni Dazzo
Born and raised in California, Giovanni now lives and works in Italy. He received dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in anthropology and political science from the University of California, Los Angeles. His coursework focused mainly on socio-cultural and urban anthropology and international political economy. Giovanni’s senior research project, in political science, examined the rise and the effects of nationalism after the decline of European imperialist efforts. In the field of anthropology, he examined how urban spaces throughout the city of Los Angeles often create a social and cultural construction of identity for certain communities.
His professional interests include issues regarding immigration, global governance, human rights and international law. Giovanni is particularly interested in the social, political and economic systems of Europe and Latin America. He speaks English, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
In his free time, he enjoys watching and playing soccer, attending concerts and the cinema, reading and travelling. |
