Alessandro Malchiodi

Alessandro holds a BA in Public Administration and a MSc in economics from Bocconi University in Milan. During his studies, he developed a genuine passion for public policy and came in contact with diverse academic environments, such as the University of Economics in Prague, where he wrote on the convergence of Czech Republic towards the European Monetary Union, and the ITAM University in Mexico City, where he could study poverty reduction programs. In 2007, he worked as research assistant at Bocconi University, where he established and held a dialogue with the World Bank on the position of Italy in the Ease of Doing Business ranking, and graduated with a thesis on the definition and measurement of the competitiveness of nations. In 2008, he joined the trade office of the Embassy of Italy in Mexico City, following investment flows and major political and economic reforms introduced by the local government. He is going to be research fellow and pursue a PhD at Rand Corporation.
In his free time he enjoys sports (football, basketball, ski), movies, music, travelling and studying foreign languages, and is involved in volunteering and civic activities.
