Deniz Akkan

Deniz AKKAN is a PhD student on EU Policies at Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium and collaborates with Vision on European projects. She has an MA degree on Internal Policies of the EU at Université Libre de Bruxelles and a BA degree in International Relations at Galatasaray University, Istanbul ( the only francophone university in Turkey). She has focused her studies on the CAP, SME, Regional and R&D policies of the EU. She currently works as a Manager for the Trade Council of Denmark in Istanbul, developing trade between Denmark and Turkey. Her previous professional experience includes consulting specialized in monitoring, analyzing and interpreting EU law and policies, providing assistance to both Turkish and foreign companies, project management for “Generation Europe”, a European think-tank based in Brussels, organizing EU wide events for the promotion of political awareness of the young people in Europe, and internships in Spain, Italy and France. She has a passion for Mediterranean cuisine and music. She is a medal-winning swimmer for 20, a volleyball player for 15 and a fencer for 10 years.
